Jaw-dropping views
LES Allues.jpg

Méribel is situated in the heart of the Three Valleys - the largest skiable domain in the world - and part of the incredible Vanoise national park - offering a wide range of mountain activities and pastimes in all seasons for all ages and all levels of fitness.

Méribel is made up of a number of villages, of which Les Allues is the chef lieu. It's an authentic village, with an Anglo-French community of around 2000 people who live here year-round. There is a village shop with excellent fresh produce and wine, open 7 days per week, and there are a number of bars and restaurants. The village boasts a large medieval church, two communal bread ovens, and next to the playground is an interesting museum for those interested in learning about the valley's history.

Being outside of Méribel Centre, Les Allues offers more space, better views, and better value for money, while remaining an excellent base for skiing, with the Olympe Gondola departing from the village. There are also a range of excellent hiking and VTT biking trails departing from the village.

As we say here, on est bien ici !

The Three Valleys is the largest skiable domain in the world. Situated in the French Alps, 2 hours from Geneva or Lyon airports, there are a range of skiing options from downhill to skating and cross-country to ski-touring, suited to every ability from beginner to advanced. Méribel is nestled in the central valley, offering easy access to all valleys and the possibility of completing all three valleys in one day.

Les Allues is the chef lieu of Méribel and has its own lift - Olympe - that whisks you up to Chaudanne where you can connect to anywhere in Méribel or hop over to Courchevel or Val Thorens. To get back to Les Allues at the end of your ski day, you can either get the Olympe lift or ski down the Villages red piste which brings you into the village centre.

Méribel is part of the incredible Vanoise national park with wide range of mountain activities and pastimes in all seasons for all ages and all levels of fitness. From the front door of Chalet LA1150 you can choose from multiple hiking trails which offer rewarding views of Mont Blanc and the promise of a well-deserved lunch at a mountain refuge. There are also excellent VTT mountain biking options, as well as road cycling - indeed, the Tour de France passed through the village in 2020. For the more adventurous there is para-skiing, paragliding, white water rafting and more.

Being an authentic mountain village with a permanent community, and amenities that are open year-round, Les Allues is an excellent place to get a change of scene and a breath of fresh air, in any season.

Hello

I'M MARTIN, YOUR HOST

I'm a British-French national, and although I was born and raised in London, the mountains have held a special place in my heart ever since my annual childhood visits to my "French Grandma", who lived Aix-Les-Bains, Savoie.

I realised my lifelong dream of owning an alpine chalet in 2019. In 2020 I worked with a local architect to give the chalet a complete makeover, which we managed to achieve despite various lockdowns, curfews and Brexit. As well as covering basics like insulating, my aim was to create a modern and luxurious home which maintained the raw charm of the traditional wooden chalet while adding a touch of class.

I'm often asked about my choice of name. I wanted something unique, memorable and modern. L.A. stands for Les Allues, and 1150 is the altitude of the chalet.

This is not primarily a rental business. It's a life dream and my home, which I plan to share with family, friends and new friends and guests who I meet along the way. I hope that many people will be able to enjoy Chalet LA1150 and that the world-famous Three Valleys might bring as much happiness to you as they do to me.

If you book for a week when I'm in the area I'll aim to meet you personally to greet you, and if you're lucky I'll bake some of my famous LA1150 welcome biscuits! I hope to welcome you soon.
